Good week to be a sixth grader. We are working on a project that is really taxing their brains as well as challenging them to work differently. They all seem to be enjoying the project of building a pharaoh's tomb. The boxes are coming along very nicely. They are about to experience what it is like to be placed before their peers to share their project and the information they have been compiling about Egypt in their paper. This week they will complete the rest of their project so that they can present on Monday following Parent Teacher conferences. This project is going to be worth about 40 % of their grade because of the amount of time and work they are putting in to the project.
Also, this week in science we will be creating a few things to help the student understand how the earth, moon and sun relate to one another. We will be studying the forces of gravity and inertia. They should start to understand how the orbit of planets changes the gravitational force exerted on each other.
