We are beginning our next unit on the water cycle. Students will learn how water transforms from one phase to another.
In Science we've been learning how energy transfers from one form to another. A fun way we learned this was by creating Domino projects. The students really shined using their creativity and patience to set up the dominoes.
In Science we are learning the different phases of matter. Our experiments this week were successful and students learned how temperature affects water and water particles in the air. We will continue this unit through the beginning of December.
Each student has been partnered with another student for this project. The requirements are as follows:
Project will be 3D and can be no larger than their desk and no smaller than a shoe box.
Students can start bringing supplies tomorrow. Any supplies they can find around the house will work.
Their project will be worked on in class but they can do some at home IF THEY CHOOSE.
Final project will be Due Monday, October 28th.
We are studying what gravity is and how it affects us. We will be writing in our notebooks this week and doing our stations labs. When those are complete we will review and study for our test on Thursday, Oct. 4th.
We have now finished our Lunar Cycle unit and are moving on to our Seasons Unit. Students will be learning about gravity, inertia, tilt, and more and what they have to do with the changes in season each year.
I have enjoyed having students come and tell me which lunar cycle they saw the night before and hope to keep them exploring the world around them. Keep up the good work and stay curious!
We are learning about the Lunar Cycle and why the moon looks different throughout the month. Students should be able to predict the different phases of the moon cycle and what the names of those phases are.
We have completed our learning stations in class and will continue several activities before our test next week. (Sept. 10th)
